PEP GUARDIOLA PREVIEW
“It is always a difficult game because of the way they play.
“It will be completely different to when we played at the Etihad.
“When we played Bournemouth, in the second half they changed completely, the players understood what he wanted and played really well.
“They are completely alive, aggressive, and well organised. They are a good team.”
PREVIOUS MEETING
In our last trip to the Vitality Stadium in February 2023, Julian Alvarez poked home to open the scoring on 15 minutes after a determined start to the game.
Erling Haaland fired in his 27th top-flight goal of the season on 29 minutes while Phil Foden – making his 200th City appearance – hit the third following a mix-up at the back from the Cherries.
Alvarez caused an own-goal for Chris Mepham, firing against the centre-half and past goalkeeper Neto on 51 minutes before Jefferson Lerma pulled one back for the hosts on 83 minutes.
In the reverse fixture this season, Jeremy Doku scored one and claimed four assists in a 6-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium.
LAST TIME OUT
Erling Haaland finally stung the Bees as his second half finish helped us see off Brentford 1-0 in a very welcome win at the Etihad on Tuesday night.
As for the Cherries, they claimed a well-earned point away to Newcastle in their last fixture, with Dominic Solanke and Antoine Semenyo getting the goals.
