See who the Scout is backing to influence the final Gameweek of 2022/23 Fantasy Premier League ahead of City’s trip to Brentford.

Pep Guardiola’s side travel to the Gtech Community Stadium for our last league assignment of the term on Sunday 28 May, with kick-off scheduled for 16:30 (UK).

We enter the fixture buoyed by already being bestowed the Premier League crown – our third in succession – before our previous two fixtures against Chelsea (a 1-0 success) and Brighton (1-1 draw).

But we’ll certainly be aiming to finish our league campaign on a high note against a European chasing Bees.

Thomas Frank’s side will qualify for the UEFA Conference League if they collect three points over City, and Tottenham (away to Leeds) and Aston Villa (at home to Brighton) drop points.

In the reverse fixture, a dramatic Ivan Toney strike in second-half additional time handed the visitors three points at the Etihad Stadium.

The English striker had already given Brentford the lead in the first half before Phil Foden unleashed a venomous volley into the net on the cusp of the interval.

We then pushed for the game’s third goal after the break, but it unfortunately fell for the Bees who snatched the win in the game’s final moments.

With the final opportunity to gain points this weekend, there are plenty of selection dilemmas for FPL managers ahead of Sunday 28 May’s 15:00 (UK) deadline.

city star

Cole Palmer (£4.2m) could be a budget gem in Fantasy Premier League when City visit Brentford in Gameweek 38.

The 21-year-old profited from Pep Guardiola’s rotation after the league title was secured last weekend, starting in the 1-0 win over Chelsea.

He immediately seized his opportunity by supplying the assist for Julian Alvarez’s (£6.1m) decisive strike to collect six points.

After featuring as a substitute away to Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek, Palmer could earn another start against Brentford, with Guardiola expected to manage the minutes of his key players ahead of an FA Cup final against Manchester United and a UEFA Champions League final against Inter.

The underlying numbers certainly highlight Palmer’s all-round potential.

His three shots in the box placed third for City in Double Gameweek 37, while his two big chances created placed joint-top.

ONE TO WATCH

Bryan Mbeumo (£5.6m) is the hosts’ form player, scoring three goals and supplying an assist in their last two fixtures.

DIFFERENTIALS

Elsewhere, Roberto Firmino (£8.0m) and Dwight McNeil (£5.1m) can thrive as differentials in Fantasy.

Firmino visits relegated Southampton in his final match for Liverpool, having scored and earned seven points against Aston Villa last weekend.

Four goals and two assists in his last seven outings suggests McNeil will be a vital figure for Everton as they look to clinch their top-flight survival at home to Bournemouth.
