Phil Foden scored a wonderful hat-trick to inspire City to a 3-1 comeback victory over Brentford in the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola‘s men went behind after 21 minutes against the run of play, with a long ball upfield from Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken running through for Neal Maupay, who coolly slotted into the corner.

We almost provided an instant response through Erling Haaland, who raced into the box and struck towards the bottom corner, but Flekken did well to block the effort.

With the clock ticking deep into first-half stoppage time, we levelled the score with our tenth strike on target, as Foden reacted to a loose clearance inside the box and poked in.

Eight minutes after the interval, Foden doubled his tally, expertly heading in an accurate  Kevin De Bruyne cross from ten yards.

The Englishman capped off a superb display with his third of the evening at the Gtech Community Stadium, linking with Haaland before slotting beyond Flekken, with the treble taking him to eight league goals this campaign.

The three points propel us into second place in the table, two points behind Liverpool, with a game in hand over the Reds.
