The Scout’s verdict is in for Gameweek 34 of Fantasy Premier League.

With fixtures coming thick and fast at the business end of the campaign, City resume league action with a trip to Brighton on Thursday 25 April, five days after our FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea.

In October’s reverse fixture with the Seagulls at the Etihad Stadium, first-half goals from Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland helped us to a battling 2-1 success.

With Roberto De Zerbi’s harbouring hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League by the season’s end – we will have to be at our best to collect three points.

As the approach the final furlong of 2023/24, FPL managers will be looking to maximise their points return before the shutter’s fall on the season.

CITY STAR

Manchester City can continue our pursuit of a fourth straight title with a win at Brighton in Gameweek 34 with the help of Phil Foden (£8.2m).

The England international has been rested in the last two Premier League matches, since his 20-point return against Aston Villa in Gameweek 31.

Brighton have managed only one win in seven so Foden will aim to add to the 21 attacking returns he has registered this season.

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi tends not to compromise on his attacking philosophy so the skilful forward, who has 90 goal attempts this season, will aim to take full advantage.

He has also created 61 chances this season, only Julian Alvarez (£6.4m) has more at City.

ONE TO WATCH

Pascal Gross (£6.3m) is the opponents’ main threat.

The German is the 10th highest point-scoring midfielder and, among players in his position, only Anthony Gordon (£6.1m) has more assists.

DIFFERENTIALS

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta (£5.0m) and Wolves’ Matheus Cunha (£5.6m) are low-owned assets with two fixtures in Gameweek 34.

In the last six gameweeks Mateta is top for goal attempts (11) and expected goals (xG) in the Crystal Palace side.

Cunha returned from injury in Gameweek 33 to score a brace and register 12 points.
