Manchester City secured a top four finish in style with a Raheem Sterling hat-trick plus strikes from Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva securing a 5-0 win at Brighton.

Our early dominance was rewarded just after the 20-minute mark when Sterling quickly shuffled the ball onto his right before effortlessly placing an inch-perfect shot into the bottom-left corner from the edge of the box.

And it was two just before the break when Jesus instinctively poked home at the back post from a Rodrigo flick-on for his second goal in two matches.

De Bruyne thought he had made it three within five minutes of the restart when his exquisite free kick cannoned back off the post, but Pep Guardiola’s men did not have to wait long to have the ball in the net once again.

Mahrez floated a delightful ball to the back post from the right, allowing Sterling to head home his second of the evening from close range in the 53rd minute.

And just four minutes later City added another, Bernardo stroking the ball home after his initial effort had been saved by Ryan.

Sterling then completed his treble in unusual fashion, heading home whilst falling to the ground after being fed through by substitute David Silva with ten to go.
