Phil Foden continued his fine goalscoring record against Brighton, netting his sixth goal in his fifth start against the Seagulls to help us claim a 1-1 Premier League draw.

The evening began with the hosts providing a guard of honour to Pep Guardiola‘s champions, who began the game brightly and should have taken an early lead, but Erling Haaland‘s header went over the crossbar from six yards.

It was an entertaining affair between two fluid attacking teams and the breakthrough came five minutes before the half-hour mark, with Haaland unselfishly setting up Foden, who found the net coolly to claim his 11th Premier League goal of the season.

The goal also means that Foden has now scored in all five of his league starts against the Seagulls.

The hosts struck back before the interval through a superb Julio Enciso strike, which nestled into the top corner beyond the sprawling Stefan Ortega Moreno.

With just under ten minutes to go, Haaland headed in at the back post from an accurate Cole Palmer cross, but after an on-field review by the referee, the goal was disallowed for a shirt pull from our number nine.

The draw extends our unbeaten league run to 16 games - the form of Champions!
