Rodrigo says Guido De Pauw has the full support of Manchester City players and staff, as the City fan continues his recovery

Positive messages have been pouring in for theĀ 63-year-oldĀ member of theĀ Blue Moon Belgium Supportersā€™ Club, whoĀ wasĀ attackedĀ iĀ following our Champions League victory over Club Brugge.Ā

Guido remains in a coma but in a stable condition and Rodrigo admitted he and the players were deeply shocked and saddened by the news.Ā

The midfielder expressed his concern, declaring the thoughts of the team are very much with Guido and his family.Ā

ā€œIt is terrifying news,ā€ he said.Ā ā€œViolence is always not good news.Ā Ā

ā€œI think the responsibility we have now is thatĀ he supports us as aĀ CityĀ fan all this time;Ā now it is our turn to support him in this situationĀ

ā€œWe haveĀ no doubts about this. We are going to push with him and hopefully he can come back [to the Etihad]Ā soon.ā€Ā

On the back of our midweek European victory in Belgium,Ā City return to Premier League action on SaturdayĀ eveningĀ with a trip to BrightonĀ &Ā Hove Albion, as third and fourth place in the table lock horns.Ā

Our last visit to the AMEX saw the Seagulls overturn a two-goal deficit to triumph 3-2 and Rodrigo has warned theĀ visitĀ could prove to be one of theĀ championsā€™ most challenging testsĀ this season.Ā

ā€œI think it is going to be one of the toughestĀ matches,ā€ he stated.Ā ā€œWe have seen the games that theyĀ have played and they are very similar to how we play.Ā

ā€œThey want the ball, they are physical, they wantĀ to do many touches with the ball, they have quality players, they understand the game, they haveĀ transitions, so it is going to be a tough game.Ā

ā€œAt their home, we donā€™t expect anything else, soĀ we have to fight like always to have the three points.ā€Ā

Pep Guardiolaā€™s men head into the clash unbeaten in the Premier League since the opening day defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.Ā

Rodrigo added the side are in fine spirits and are starting to find their rhythm, improving game-by-game.Ā

ā€œI think we are in a good way and a good mood right now,ā€ he continued.Ā

ā€œWe are in a good moment and the team isĀ starting to fit.Ā Ā

ā€œThe beginning of the season is alwaysĀ difficultĀ because we all need a little bit of time,Ā but I think we are now in the rightĀ placeĀ to start growing and to start working on the same thing everyĀ game.Ā

ā€œIt is a good moment for us and the team is showing a step forward every game. We areĀ improving every game and hopefully,Ā it stays the same.ā€Ā

The defensive midfielder also reserved praise for summer recruit Jack Grealish, who Rodrigo believes is settling nicely into the squad and adapting well into City life.Ā

ā€œI think he is doing amazing,ā€ he hailed.Ā ā€œJack is doing great and he has fit very well into the team, changing manyĀ things of his game because always when you arrive into a different squad you have to adapt yourself.Ā

ā€œHe is understanding where he can be a key player. He is a great player and he can be greatĀ for us.ā€Ā
