First-half goals from defensive duo Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol had us in control, before Cherki’s moment of magic set up Phil Foden to head in our third.
The Frenchman had the ball on the right edge of the box, before cutting back inside onto his left foot.

Instead of playing a traditional left-footed cross, the midfield maestro opted for a stunning Rabona cross using his opposite right foot, directing the ball perfectly for Foden to nod in.
“Yeah I heard it [fan reaction], just for the fans because I want to give the pleasure to others,” said Cherki when quizzed about his moment of brilliance after the victory.

“I want to play for Phil [Foden], for Omar [Marmoush] and for Erling [Haaland].
“It’s my quality, I want to try all the time when I have the ball. Today it was good because it was a good pass for Phil.
“Today it was a great game. We don’t want to concede goals and today we didn’t. Perfect day.”
The three points propel us back to second in the league table, with the gap to leaders Arsenal now reduced to only two points.
However, Player of the Match Cherki was quick to reiterate City’s desire to only focus on each game as it comes.
“We know that [we are two points behind Arsenal]. We take the game one after one.
“We want to work for wins and games.”
