David Silva returns to the City lineup against Norwich this afternoon for what will be his final Premier League appearance for the Club.

Silva’s return, in place of Bernardo Silva, is the only change made by manager Pep Guardiola from the side which beat Watford 4-0 at Vicarage Road last Tuesday.

The City boss has named a strong side against the relegated Canaries, with Kyle Walker, Eric Garcia, Aymeric Laporte and Joao Cancelo all retaining their place in defence.

Silva leads the team with Rodrigo and Kevin De Bruyne also in midfield whilst Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden and Gabriel Jesus are also named in the starting XI.

Silva and De Bruyne will operate ahead of the Spaniard, whilst Foden and Sterling will be deployed upfront either side of Jesus.

SILVA SALVO

It promises to be an extra special occasion as David Silva plays his 309th and final league game for the Club after an incredible decade with City.

In that time our Spanish midfield maestro has won every domestic honour going and cemented his reputation as not only one of the greatest players ever to represent City but also to grace the Premier League.

With City still involved in the Champions League, David of course still has important action ahead of him and the Club will pay a special tribute to El Mago once he has played his final game.

But, after being a key part of the sides which have lifted four Premier League titles in his 10 years at the Etihad along with a host of other silverware, his final league outing will be both an emotional occasion but also one to savour for everyone at the Club.

MILESTONES IN SIGHT

It could also be an afternoon to remember for a number of other City players with a host of notable landmarks in the offing.

Raheem Sterling needs just two goals to chalk up 100 goals in all competitions for the Club.

The England star also needs just one goal to become the first English player to score 20 top-flight goals in a season since Brian Kidd back in the 1976/77 campaign.

Kevin De Bruyne meanwhile is just one assist short of equalling Thierry Henry’s Premier League record of 20 set in 2002-03 and two of creating a new record.

Goalkeeper Ederson is in the running to land the coveted Premier League Golden Glove award.

Going into the final league game of the season, our Brazilian goalkeeper currently shares joint top spot in the rankings with 15 clean sheets for the season along with Nick Pope of Burnley.

And Pep Guardiola’s side need three more goals to chalk up 100 for the league season.
