Phil Foden has joined a very exclusive club of players to be directly involved in 100 Premier League goals for City.

Counted as goals or assists, goal involvements are a direct indication of crucial impact in the final third.

And Foden reached triple figures in the league alone with his his first assist against Crytal Palace, taking him to 68 Premier League goals and 32 assists before moments later he got another.

He becomes just the sixth modern era City legend to the figure, alongside some of the other outstanding talents in English football in recent years.

Here we’ll run through them, as well as honourable mentions for those that are just short of the 100 mark.

Sergio Aguero

184 goals

47 assists

Our record goalscorer is also 41 ahead of anyone else when it comes to direct involvement in City goals.

The Argentinian regularly challenged for Premier League Golden Boot, winning it in 2014/15.

He scored at least 20 times in six of his 10 seasons in the Premier League and is sixth in terms of Premier League top scorers since the top-flight’s rebrand.

Kevin De Bruyne

72 goals

118 assists

‘King Kev’ had a dazzling decade at City from 2015 to 2025 as the creative linchpin of Pep Guardiola’s side after joining under Manuel Pellegrini.

Only Ryan Giggs has ever registered more Premier League assists than him, while De Bruyne reached 100 in record time – needing just 237 games, when previous record holder Cesc Fabregas had got there in 293.

He is the only man to have won the Premier League Playmaker of the Season award three times since its inception in 2017.

Not just an assist maker, De Bruyne was more than capable of scoring himself with many a decisive strike across his six Premier League titles.

David Silva

60 goals

93 assists

When ‘El Mago’ arrived at City in 2010, he was a 24-year-old that had already won the World Cup and European Championships.

That was a mark of his quality, but few could have predicted just how much of a total success he would be at the Etihad.

A central pillar of City’s teams under Roberto Mancini, Pellegrini and Guardiola, Silva’s close control and composure often saw him run games, but he was also ruthless in playing the final pass and could add a goal of his own too.

Whether in wide midfield early on or centrally under Guardiola, Silva was crucial in sustained City success.

Raheem Sterling

91 goals

42 assists

Sterling arrived at City in 2015, the same year as De Bruyne.

In seven seasons at the Etihad, Sterling developed into one of the Premier League’s most productive wingers.

Under Guardiola, his goal output increased dramatically, challenging for the Golden Boot against central strikers during some of our best domestic campaigns.

Erling Haaland

107 goals

23 assists

Still only 25, Haaland has his eyes set on many of the biggest Premier League records on offer.

So far, he’s clocked up 107 strikes in just 123 outings and won two Golden Boots in his first three seasons.

He’s also in pole position for a third Golden Boot this year and earlier this season hit the 100 goal mark in record time, needing just 111 appearances – 13 fewer than previous record holder Alan Shearer.

Phil Foden

68 goals

33 assists

The latest addition to this small gang of some of the very best names in City’s Premier League history, Foden is one of the finest products of our very own Academy.

Also only 25, he’s already won six Premier League titles and is one of the most decorated players in our history.

2023/24 also saw him named the Premier League Player of the Season, netting 19 goals in the league alone.

And in the FIFA Club World Cup last summer, he became just the 20th man to 100 City goals and only the second midfielder since Colin Bell to do so.

Best of the rest

Club captain Bernardo Silva is only six contributions away from 100 in the Premier League, registering 44 goals and 50 assists in the English top-flight so far.

He’s level with Yaya Toure, who scored 62 goals and laid on 32 assists between 2010 and 2018.

Gabriel Jesus’ 87 involvements (58 goals, 29 assists) is next, with Carlos Tevez rounding out the top 10 on 82 (58 goals, 24 assists).
