Pep Guardiola‘s side won the competition for the third time in a row after first-half goals from Sergio Aguero and Rodri.

Aguero fired City into the lead in the 20th minute after Phil Foden‘s neat assist, before Rodri powerfully headed in after Ikay Gundogan‘s curling delivery on the half-hour mark.

Villa struck back four minutes before the interval through Mbwana Samatta, who directed the ball beyond Claudio Bravo after Anwar El Ghazi’s accurate cross.

Guardiola‘s men created a few more chances in the second period, with Aguero coming close to adding a third, but ultimately preserved the lead to be crowned as 2019/20 Carabao Cup winners!
