OPPOSING MANAGER - Fabian Hürzeler

The German became the Premier League’s youngest ever permanent manager at the age of 31, after having achieved promotion to the German Bundesliga after a 13-year absence for St. Pauli.

His first two seasons have been consistent, achieving eighth place in the league table in both campaigns and qualifying for the Europa Conference League.

He has masterminded a phenomenal start to the new campaign with five wins, one draw and one defeat in the top-flight.

Hürzeler is big on high energy and intense pressing so the Blues can expect the Seagulls to put up an intense fight under the lights at the Etihad.

ENZO MARESCA PREVIEW

The boss will be facing the media at his pre-match press conference from 10:30 (UK) on Tuesday 27 October where the City boss will provide all the latest team news updates.

We’ll have a written review and video recap soon after it has concluded.

PREVIOUS MEETING

Our last Carabao Cup encounter with Brighton came in 2008, where we were held to a 2-2 draw, before being defeated 5-3 on penalties.

In league terms, we faced the Seagulls last January at the Etihad, with Erling Haaland’s opener cancelled out by Karou Mitoma in an entertaining draw.

LAST TIME OUT

We reached the fourth round after a 5-0 victory over Norwich City in a memorable night for Floyd Samba and Allan.

Brighton advanced after an impressive away victory over Manchester United, overcoming the Reds 3-2 at Old Trafford.
