Bernardo Silva's late deflected goal propelled City into the 2023/24 FA Cup final with a 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.

Pep Guardiola‘s men created history at Wembley, playing in a sixth consecutive FA Cup semi-final - the first time an English club has achieved such a feat.

But it was Chelsea who had the better chances in the first period, with Nicolas Jackson racing through on goal from the halfway line, but eventually was forced wide by good defending from Stefan Ortega Moreno, John Stones and Kyle Walker.

After the interval, Jackson again came closest to the opener on two occasions, but was denied expertly in quick succession by Ortega Moreno.

Phil Foden, who has scored twice in this season’s FA Cup journey, then swept towards the bottom corner from 12 yards, but Dorde Petrovic got down well to palm the ball away.

The deadlock was eventually broken after 84 minutes, with Bernardo in the right place at the right time at the back post to find the net after De Bruyne‘s low cross deflected into his path.

The goal was enough as we remained resolute for the remainder of the game and made it through to successive FA Cup finals.
