Julian Alvarez was involved in three goals as City came from a goal down to beat Liverpool 4-1 in a pulsating Premier League encounter at the Etihad Stadium.

The visitors made the perfect start, taking the lead through Mohamed Salah, who fired into the corner after Diogo Jota’s neat lay off after 17 minutes.

Pep Guardiola‘s men were jolted by the early blow and ten minutes later, we levelled through Alvarez, who finished off a sweeping team move to claim his 13th goal of the season.

It was a frantic, tense and end-to-end encounter at the Etihad Stadium, and the pattern resumed after the interval as City flew out of the blocks to go ahead.

World Cup winner Alvarez found Riyad Mahrez in space on the right flank with a searching pass, and he then delivered a perfect cross to Kevin De Bruyne, who coolly tapped into an empty net.

With that sublime cross, the Algerian became the leading African player in Premier League history for assists, with his tally now at 56.

We continued our attacking intensity and extended our lead shortly after, with Gundogan in the right place at the right time to find the net after Alvarez saw his goal-bound shot blocked.
