Phil Foden's second half double inspired City to a 3-1 Premier League comeback victory over Manchester United in a pulsating clash at the Etihad Stadium.

City made a slick start to the 192nd Manchester derby but Marcus Rashford blasted the visitors in front after eight minutes against the run of play, with a thunderous strike from 25 yards which cannoned off the bottom of the crossbar and into the net.

Pep Guardiola‘s men responded to the setback and almost levelled  through Foden, who raced through on goal but saw his effort blocked well by United goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The best chance of the half fell to Erling Haaland shortly before the interval with Foden heading into his path, but the striker touched the ball over the crossbar from two yards.

Ten minutes after the break, Foden levelled with a special strike, cutting in onto his left foot and unleashing a powerful drive into the top corner beyond the sprawling Onana.

Foden took centre stage again with ten minutes of normal time left to play, latching to a Julian Alvarez pass before firing into the bottom corner for his 11th league goal of the season to complete the comeback.
