John Stones' first two Premier League goals for City inspired a 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium, propelling us to second in the table.

The centre-back started alongside summer-signing Ruben Dias yet again, with the duo only conceding one goal this season when starting together.

Pep Guardiola‘s side began on the front foot, forcing the visitors into multiple blocks early on.

However, Kevin de Bruyne unlocked Crystal Palace’s deep defence in the 26th minute, delivering a sublime cross into the box for Stones to direct into the bottom corner - registering his first ever league goal for City and marking De Bruyne‘s 100th assist in all competitions for the club.

It was celebration time again for City shortly before the hour mark, as Ilkay Gundogan curled in a spectacular effort to double the lead, taking his tally to four goals this term.

Ten minutes later, our defensive duo made their impact in the opposition box again, with Ruben Dias‘ powerful header parried out into Stones‘ path, who blasted beyond Vicente Guaita.

With the clock ticking towards full-time, Raheem Sterling added a wonderful fourth, arrowing a free-kick into the top corner from 20 yards after Ferran Torres was fouled.

That goal was the cherry on top as the three points pushes the team into second place in the table, two points behind Manchester United with a game in hand!
