James McAtee netted a hat-trick, whilst Divin Mubama and Nico O'Reilly scored their first senior competitive City goals in the 8-0 FA Cup third round victory over Salford City.

Pep Guardiola made nine changes for the encounter, with Mubama named in the starting line up for the first time since his summer switch from West Ham United.

The electric Jeremy Doku opened the scoring after just eight minutes, connecting with Jack Grealish‘s pass to curl in off the post.

12 minutes later, Mubama doubled the lead with a simple finish from barely a yard out, after superb work in the build up by Savinho and Matheus Nunes on the right flank, with the latter expertly providing the assist with a delicate dink.

WHO IS CITY’S DIVIN MUBAMA?

With two minutes left until the interval, Nico O’Reilly slotted in a wonderful third, receiving the ball from Doku on the left side of the box, before drilling into the far corner, claiming his first competitive senior City goal, previously only netting in pre-season against Barcelona last July.

Just minutes after the break, we made it four thanks to a composed penalty from Jack Grealish, after the Englishman was brought down inside the box.

With the clock just ticking past the hour mark, James McAtee struck his first ever goal at the Etihad, cleverly directing Doku’s cross into the net from eight yards, before Doku himself made it six from the penalty spot, followed by McAtee stroking in his second and our seventh.

WHEN IS THE FA CUP FOURTH ROUND DRAW?

The Academy graduate secured his hat-trick with just under ten minutes left to play, stretching to divert a Grealish cross into the bottom corner as we coasted into the fourth round of the FA Cup.
