Phil Foden scored one and assisted another as City cruised to a 4-0 Premier League victory over Southampton to temporarily move to the top of the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola‘s men took the lead after 20 minutes, with Foden‘s pass finding Joao Cancelo on the halfway line.

The fullback burst forward, beat James Ward-Prowse with a fantastic drop of the shoulder and finished expertly into the far corner with his left foot.

Just after the hour mark, the lively Foden added a second, dinking the ball over the onrushing Gavin Bazunu expertly after being put through by Kevin de Bruyne, marking the Belgian’s ninth assist of the season.

City emerged from the interval with similar attacking intent and just four minutes after the break, we added a third through a sumptuous Riyad Mahrez volley.

Just after the hour mark we made it four, with Cancelo’s driven cross being slammed into the net by Erling Haaland, taking his Premier League tally to 15.
