A brace each from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez inspired City to a 4-1 Premier League victory over Manchester United.

Pep Guardiola men made the perfect start as De Bruyne slotted into the bottom corner from Bernardo Silva’s clever cross, taking his Premier League goal tally to 50.

The visitors responded well and called Ederson into action almost instantly, as the shot-stopper came out quickly to save from Fred inside the box.

However, the sprawling Ederson couldn’t deny United’s equaliser from Jadon Sancho, who curled into the bottom corner from the edge of the 18-yard box.

Just before the half-hour mark, skipper De Bruyne restored our lead, capitalising on a loose ball inside the box after great work from Phil Foden to calmly tuck the ball into the net.

Mahrez almost added a third early in the second period, but his low shot was expertly saved by David De Gea.

However, with just over 20 minutes remaining, the Algerian did get his goal, striking a delightful half-volley into the far corner directly from De Bruyne‘s delivery.

Mahrez added the cherry on top of the display with a stoppage time goal, his 21st across all competitions this season, striking into the top corner after being put through on goal by Ilkay Gundogan.
