In the latest instalment of #City30 presented by Nexen, we asked you – the fans – to nominate the best headed goal (or clearance!) of the Pep Guardiola, Nick Cushing or Alan Mahon eras.
Whose header was executed to perfection? Whose was a crucial strike? Who demonstrated an airborne ability you didn’t know they had?
Although there wasn’t a standout moment put forward, with several nominations, there was a clear winner for best aerial threat: Aymeric Laporte.
Laporte v wolves, Everton or Brighton all last season

The Frenchman earned a deserved nomination in Wednesday’s ‘best signings’ topic and as mentioned in that feature, his aerial prowess has been one of his most impressive – and perhaps unexpected – traits.
We all knew about Laporte’s composure and unerring passing accuracy, but who knew he’d be such an attacking threat?
The defender has bagged five goals since his arrival last January – all headed strikes, including a pivotal leveller in our 4-1 Premier League title-clinching triumph at Brighton and Hove Albion in the sensational Fourmidables campaign.
Not bad for a centre-back!
Friday’s #City30 topic: the best volley.
Who caught the ball perfectly as it fell from the sky? Whose strike could not have been struck any sweeter? Who hit it so powerfully, they almost broke the net? Who left the goalkeeper standing in awe?
