As we near the eight-year anniversary(!) of that sensational, never-to-be-repeated moment, Sergio Aguero‘s unforgettable injury-time winner against Queens Park Rangers is today reignited as the unanimous Champion of Tuesday’s #City30 topic.
Yesterday, in our latest edition of the feature, presented by Nexen, we asked you - the fans - to nominate the best team goal you’ve ever seen: a goal beloved for its craft and creation (and in this case for its importance).
Naturally, our fantastic 44-pass goal against Manchester United in 2018 earned plenty of recognition... but there was only ever going to be one winner...
That Aguero's last minute strike vs QPR is what makes me support @ManCity🤗 I was only 11 that time #City30

@aguerosergiokun 's league winning goal against QPR 3-2; last minute goal that made me almost went crazy. Hell of a craziest moment of football in my life #City30

You know the story: City, on the verge of surrendering our first Premier League title to neighbours United... Agonisingly, locked at 2-2 with relegation-threatened, ten-man QPR... It’s deep into stoppage time, we’ve just equalised and we’re desperately seeking the goal which would make all of our dreams come true...
Painfully, Samir Nasri lets the ball roll out of play for a QPR throw-in just past the half-way line, as City hero Shaun Wright-Phillips tries to run the clock down for the Londoners.
Thankfully, Joloen Lescott (who of course had a hand in the visitors’ leveller), rises highest to win back possession deep into City’s half, heading into the path of Nigel de Jong.
As news filters through of QPR’s Premier League survival, the Dutchman carries the ball forward and into opposition territory, looking to launch an immediate attack as City bid for that elusive winner...

Aguero finds Mario Balotelli on the edge of the box, facing away from goal. A QPR leg tries to poke the ball clear but the Italian striker musters all of his strength to try and retain his balance, forcing the ball into the path of the onrushing Argentine.
Kun collects and bursts towards the six-yard box, skipping past the outstretched legs of Taye Taiwo before smashing the ball into the near post - beyond Paddy Kenny - to spark scenes of absolute delirium, snatching the title back from United and clinching our maiden Premier League crown.
It may not have been one of the most beautifully-crafted, patiently-perfected or incredibly intricate team goals... but it was a jewel of a joint effort.
And it will never be forgotten.
Wednesday’s #City30 topic: the tap-in.
Which goal sticks in the mind for its simplicity? Who had ice in their veins to coolly convert under pressure? Who finished off a beautiful move to take the acclaim? Which effort was almost so easy to slot home, it was almost fluffed?!
