The French defensive midfielder, 22, joined City in 2018 from Paris Saint-Germain and made his senior bow that August in our Community Shield win over Chelsea as a substitute.
He then figured again from the bench in a Carabao Cup win over Fulham in November of that year.
After spending the 2019/20 season on loan at PSV Eindhoven where he furthered his development with the Dutch team’s reserve side, Gomes subsequently went on to make his FA Cup bow for City during the 2020/21 campaign, coming on as a substitute in our 3-1 fifth round win at Swansea.
That term he also proved a key figure for City’s Elite Development Squad as we lifted the PL2 title for the first time, Gomes making 20 appearances in total for our Under-23s.
He then furthered his development and experience by spending the 2021/22 season on loan with Barnsley, making 32 appearances in total for the Oakwell side, scoring once.
Everyone at Manchester City wishes Claudio every success in his future career.
