Conor Gallagher had already fired the Young Lions ahead inside five minutes to give Lee Carsley’s side the perfect start before Palmer took centre stage.
The City youngster showed great vision and technique to strike a tremendous goal from just inside the penalty area on 14 minutes to double England’s tally and leave them looking set fair.

Fellow City youngster Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who is currently on loan at Anderlecht, made his second England Under-21 appearance while Tommy Doyle – currently on a season-long loan at SV Hamburger, was an unused substitute.
The result leaves the Young Lions in third place in Group G with four points from two games, behind Abania who have six points from three and leaders the Czech Republic who nine points.
England’s Under-21s are back in action again on Monday when they travel to take on Andorra’s Under-21s.
