De Bruyne has been nominated for the UEFA Men’s 2021/22 Player of the Year prize.
He is in contention for the award alongside Real Madrid duo Karim Benzema together with KDB’s Belgian international colleague Thibaut Courtois
The Belgian midfielder proved a tower of strength again last term, helping City both retain our Premier League crown and reach the Champions League semi-final stage with a series of outstanding individual performances.
It’s the second successive season that De Bruyne has been shortlisted for the award and yet further recognition of both his quality and consistency.
Meanwhile, City manager Guardiola has been included on a three-man shortlist for the UEFA Men’s 2021/22 Coach of the Year award alongside Carlo Ancelotti of Real Madrid and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
As well as guiding City to a fourth Premier League title in five years, the boss also oversaw another fine run of form during our European campaign, with City attracting widespread praise for the quality of our football en route to reaching the semi-finals.
The winners will be announced when the 2022-23 Champions League group stage draw takes place on Thursday, August 25.
Everyone at Manchester City wishes Pep and Kevin the very best of luck in the final vote.
