Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland have been nominated for the Premier League's Player of the Month award for October.

In his five appearances, De Bruyne registered three assists and scored two stunning goals as City won four times to keep the pressure on Arsenal at the top of the league.

The Belgian now has nine assists to his name so far this season, four ahead of nearest challenger Gabriel Jesus.

His two goals were both memorable hits too, with a whipped shot against Brighton and decisive free-kick against Leicester City catching the eye.

Haaland was involved in eight goals in his four Premier League appearances in October, with six strikes and two assists.

The Norwegian started the month in incredible form, scoring a hat-trick against Manchester United. In doing so became the first player in history to net three successive home hat-tricks. He also set up Phil Foden for two goals in that comprehensive victory.

He maintained his high standards throughout the month with a goal against Southampton and a brace in the home meeting with Brighton. He remains the leading scorer in the league, with 17 strikes from 11 appearances.

De Bruyne and Haaland will face tough competition from fellow nominees Miguel Almiron (Newcastle United), Kepa Arrizabalaga (Chelsea), Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle United), Kieran Trippier (Newcastle United), Leandro Trossard (Brighton & Hove Albion) and Granit Xhaka (Arsenal).
