A thunderbolt from Phil Foden and a Riyad Mahrez penalty completed a deserved second half comeback for City against Borussia Dortmund to secure our spot in the Champions League semi-finals.

Jude Bellingham hauled the hosts in front on the night and on aggregate with an impressive curling effort inside 15 minutes, finding the top corner beyond the despairing dive of Ederson from inside the area.

But City responded defiantly, Kevin De Bruyne smashing an effort off the bar before Bernardo could only divert the rebound agonisingly wide of the post with his head.

And we went close once again on the half hour, Mahrez racing onto Phil Foden’s looping cutback and beating Marwin Hitz, but Bellingham recovered in time to divert the ball off the line.

Pep Guardiola’s men continued to pile on the pressure after the restart and were rewarded when Emre Can handled inside the area, giving Mahrez the chance to level the score.

And the Algerian made no mistake, coolly dispatching the spot kick to hand City the advantage in the 55th minute.

Foden made it two with 15 to play, firing a thunderbolt from the edge of the box inside Hitz’s near post following a short corner routine.
