Our Brazilian became the third quickest to the landmark with his performance against Newcastle United in his 208th Premier League appearance.
He joined the Club in the summer of 2017 and has played a major role in all four Premier League titles under Pep Guardiola.
As well as a reliable presence between the sticks, the No.31 has been pivotal in the transformation of our style.
His composure and outstanding ability with the ball at his feet means we often start attacks from deep in our own half, progressing the ball in a controlled manner up the pitch.
He is also capable of devastating long balls and has picked up three assists in the Premier League.
He has won the Premier League Golden Glove in each of the last three seasons, sharing last year’s award with Liverpool’s Alisson.
Ederson also finished third in the vote for the 2022 Yashin Trophy, which selects the best goalkeeper across the calendar year.
He recently sat down with City Studios to discuss his style of play in detail and explain to young goalkeepers how they can emulate him.
Arriving from Portuguese giants Benfica as a 23-year-old, Ederson took his place in goal for the start of the 2017/18 season, making his Premier League debut and keeping his first clean sheet in a 2-0 opening day win at Brighton.
He made 36 Premier League appearances in his first campaign as the Blues clocked up a record 100 points to become the iconic Centurions. He kept 16 clean sheets that year, second only to David De Gea in the race for the Golden Glove.
Take a look at the video below to hear Ederson’s own take on his first campaign in Manchester…
He was an ever present the following year, keeping 20 Premier League clean sheets as the Blues won a second consecutive title as part of a domestic quadruple.
Notably, he also registered his first Premier League assist when he fired a goal kick over the visiting defence into the path of Sergio Aguero.
Our goalkeeper claimed his first Premier League Golden Glove in 2019/20, keeping 16 clean sheets as City finished second.
He was again named the leading goalkeeper in the country in 2020/21 as City reclaimed the Premier League title, keeping 19 clean sheets on the way.
His second assist also came in this campaign, firing a ball over the top for Ilkay Gundogan to race on to and finish during a 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Last season saw him claim his third Golden Glove, tied with Alisson on 20 clean sheets, as City clocked up the fourth Premier League title in five seasons.
His most recent assist came in a meeting with Brighton earlier this season when Erling Haaland latched on to a long pass.
Now 29, the Brazilian’s place as one of the great Premier League goalkeepers is already assured.
Congratulations to Ederson on another incredible achievement!
