City goalkeeper Ederson has stressed that Brazil need a 'victorious mentality' in order to win the World Cup.

Brazil are in Group G alongside Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon for the tournament, which runs through November and December during a Premier League mid-season winter break.

They face Serbia in their opening game on Thursday with a 19.00 (UK time) kick-off at Lusail Stadium.

Brazil are five-time winners but have not seen success since 2002 when they defeated Germany 2-0 at International Stadium, Yokohama courtesy of a Ronaldo double.

City’s No.31 is hoping the team can emerge victorious this time around.

But, despite the pace and grace of the Samba Boys, Ederson insists the players need full focus.
