Sunday welcomed a City Football Family reunion, as Brazil stars Ederson and Gabriel Jesus visited Belgian City Football Group Club Lommel SK.

Ahead of Tuesday night’s Champions League trip to Club Brugge, the pair travelled straight to Belgium from international duty with Brazil due to COVID-19 restrictions in the UK.

During their time there, both players were invited to attend Lommel’s 3-0 triumph over Mouscron - Arno Verschueren, Koki Saito and fellow Brazilian Diego Rosa on the scoresheet - and their arrival caused quite a stir, as the pair were introduced to fans and players on the pitch.

The Premier League Champions met the Lommel squad and exchanged presents, and signed autographs and snapped pictures with the home supporters.

As the rest of the City team head out to Belgium from Manchester on Monday, the duo will complete their recovery and preparation for our European clash with Pep Guardiola confirming in his pre-match press conference he is hopeful the pair will be in contention.

“The protocols meant, they could not land here,” he explained. “So we will join them tonight in the hotel and tomorrow they may play, maybe not.

“Then they will come back to Manchester and join the normal routine of daily life.

“Gabriel and Eddie have been with is for four, five years. They don’t need special things to be ready. We will talk to them and see how they feel.

“They trained in Belgium for one or two days with our physios and Richard [Wright] our ‘keeper trainer. We will see how they feel.”
