Since joining City from Benfica in the summer of 2017, the Brazilian international has gone on to establish himself as one of the key cornerstones in a remarkable period of success under Pep Guardiola.
In his five seasons at the Etihad to date, the 29-year-old has helped City to win four Premier Leagues, four Carabao Cups, an FA Cup and reach a first-ever Champions League final.
Ederson’s comfort with the ball at his feet and superb distribution, allied to his natural goalkeeping attributes, have seen him help redefine the art of what a goalkeeper can bring to a side.
And his individual impact has seen Ederson win the prestigious Premier League Golden Glove award for the past three successive seasons.

Reflecting on his time at the Club so far, Ederson admitted it had been a hugely rewarding experience – but he insisted the unique demands of the Premier League meant he was still constantly seeking to improve and develop.
“Time flies. I grew a lot in my time at Manchester City, not only as a player, but as a person too. I feel more mature now,” the keeper reflected.
“Every day is a learning experience. Every day I try to learn something new and develop.
“The recipe is to work hard, help my teammates and help the team. I honestly feel very happy,
“I feel very fulfilled here in this club that experienced huge growth in the last few years. You can tell from the number of trophies we have won.
“But we are always searching for more, always trying to improve ourselves and working hard every day. The Premier League is a fascinating championship.
“I know how difficult it is to play in this league, every game is tough, all the games are very intense.

“You need to give your 100 per cent in every game, there aren’t easy games regardless of the team you are facing.
“It has been a difficult start, but we are there close to the top of the league.
“It’s important that the team manage to have several wins in a row, knowing how difficult it is with so many great teams and playing every three days.”
Arguably more than most, Ederson has thrived under the guidance of manager Pep Guardiola who has helped utilise the very best out of the Brazilian.
And he admitted it was a special experience to both work with and learn from the City boss.
“Pep is a phenomenal manager, as he has shown during all his career,” Ederson added.
“I don’t know what is going through his head, but he is thinking about 1,000 things at the same time, and he manages to implement them into our team.
“You can tell from the way we play since he arrived, he completely changed the way we play in this club.
“He is very intense, he works really hard and he lives football 24/7.”
Meanwhile on what marked the seventh anniversary of the arrival of Kevin De Bruyne to City, Ederson also paid how own special tribute to the Belgian midfielder and his incredible impact on the Club in that time.
“It’s easy to talk about Kevin. He can find passes where there is no space. He is an extraordinary player,” Ederson declared.
“He has always had great consistency, he helps the team a lot. He was a great signing for Manchester City.
“He is one of the best players I have ever played with. I hope he can keep the same level he has now for many more years with us.”
