And number two would follow soon after, with Richarlison’s powerful header once again ruled out following a VAR review.
But, with Ederson rarely troubled in the Brazil net, the decisive goal was only a matter of time, and it was Marquinhos who stepped up to take home the points.
While less emphatic than their opening win over Bolivia, it means the City stopper’s nation, alongside Argentina, are the only nation to maintain a 100% record in World Cup qualifying so far.
The top six teams will automatically progress to the 2026 World Cup, hosted in the United States, Mexico and Canada, with seventh entering a play-off.
Ederson and co. are next in qualifying action in October, when they face Venezuela and Uruguay.
