Brazilian playmaker Elano was a sky blue hero during his spell with the Club between 2007 and 2009.
He arrived as one of the first signings of the Sven-Goran Eriksson reign and went on to become a huge fan favourite, helped by several terrific goals, including a scorching effort against Newcastle.
He’s back at the site of that marvellous piledriver this afternoon after flying into Manchester for the Cottagers game.
BAHIA IN MANCHESTER | EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
The popular ex-Blues star will head pitchside pre-game to be interviewed by Matchday Live so make sure you’re in your seats to give him a huge welcome back to the Etihad.
He, in turn, wants fans to get here early to enjoy ‘O dia da Bahia’ - ‘Bahia in Manchester’ – a matchday experience he expects to create a buzz around the ground.
“I am so thrilled to be back at Manchester City. It feels like coming home,” said Elano.
“I have so many fantastic memories here and they came flooding back when I arrived.
“I am looking forward to watching the Fulham game on Saturday, seeing this tremendous team in action - the Treble winners. I still follow the team now and to see them be so successful has made me so happy.
“Of course, I am also here for ‘Bahia in Manchester’. This will bring so much energy and vibrancy to the day.
“People from Brazil know how to have fun and create that party atmosphere and it’s sure to be a great occasion. I encourage the fans to get here early to enjoy a great day.”
