The squad trained in front of a packed-out Joie Stadium on a bright and hot Thursday afternoon in our special City Are Back event.
It was Anderson’s second training session after he linked up with his new team-mates for the first time following an incredible World Cup campaign for England.
But now hard at work in Blue, City’s new number five spoke in front of the fans for the first time and expressed his excitement in getting to represent the Club.
“I haven’t had long with the break and the World Cup,” began Anderson.
“[But I’m] Delighted to be here now and get used to the way we play.
“I was speaking with my family, [I’m] excited to be playing with them [the players] and not against them.
“I’m just trying to get used to that.”
City’s first game is only days away as we travel to Cardiff for the 2026 Community Shield.
We take on Arsenal on Sunday 16 August, with kick-off set for 16:00 (UK).
It could be City’s first competitive sighting of Anderson in which he’ll be looking to showcase his key attributes in the role Maresca is asking him to play in.
“I spoke with him [Maresca] briefly yesterday and today,” continued Anderson.
“[I’ll be] Part of the midfield, bring composure and help everyone.
“[My focus is also] Getting fans excited and wanting to come and support me and winning games for this club.”
