The result now sees the Young Lions advance into the last-16 as Group C winners of the competition they’ve not won since 1984 with a group game still to play.
Lee Carsley’s side entered the meeting buoyed by their 2-0 victory over Czech Republic in their opening match, where goals from Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey and Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe were the difference.
And the Gunners starlet thought he had handed England an early lead inside four minutes when he latched onto a loose ball inside the box and backheeled home, before the assistant referee raised the flag for offside.
Similar to the valiant defending that earned Israel an impressive 0-0 draw with Germany last time out, they were thwarting a swathe of Young Lions attacks early on.
But their resolve only lasted until the 15th minute when Anthony Gordon broke the deadlock with a smart, close-range header following a strong run and cross from Morgan Gibbs-White.
England took a deserved, albeit narrow, lead into half-time and City winger Palmer entered the field after 60 minutes at Georgia’s Ramaz Shengelia Stadium, while his clubmates started proceedings.
Then, only eight minutes later, Smith Rowe scored the second goal his side craved when firing home from 20-yards - his second of the tournament so far in total.
All told, the success was fairly routine for Carsley’s side who now have six points from a possible six, while the shutout also represents back-to-back clean sheets for City’s Trafford and Harwood-Bellis.
England will conclude their group campaign with a meeting with Germany on Wednesday 28 June, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00 (UK), before the knockout stages begin on Saturday 1 July.
