Erling Haaland is already in the Top 20 all-time Premier League goalscorers at the Etihad Stadium - despite only joining City this summer.

Haaland is joint No.16 in the list when it comes to strike figures on home soil.

This is our 20th season at the current ground, which we moved to in the summer of 2003 after leaving Maine Road.

The Brentford game, our last Premier League home match, was our 369th in the top-flight at the Etihad Stadium and there have been a host of stars showcase their finishing ability here.

New forward Haaland has only played eight matches here – and yet he’s rising through the ranks with 13 goals already.

The ratio of goal to game – 1.6 - is hugely impressive after his stunning start to life in the sky blue.

But it’s his position in the Top 20 list after so few matches that also makes for stark reading.

Even the players who are joint 16th with Haaland – Mario Balotelli and Samir Nasri - took 28 and 61 appearances to reach 13 goals.

Directly above Haaland in joint 14th is Fernandinho (14/128) and Nicolas Anelka (14/26) before Bernardo Silva (15/89) in 13th and Phil Foden (16/66) alongside Shaun Wright-Phillips (16/70) in joint 11th.

The Top 10 is a past and present who’s who of the Premier League era.

Edin Dzeko makes it into the Top 10 in 10th with 18 goals from 62 appearances while Ilkay Gundogan is ninth with 23 goals in 90 appearances.

Fellow current star, Riyad Mahrez, is eighth on the list with 24 goals from 64 appearances.

Midfield legend Yaya Toure comes in at seventh with 30 goals in 118 appearances while Gabriel Jesus is sixth with 32 goals from 77 games.

Spanish magician David Silva is fifth with 36 goals from 160 appearances.

Carlos Tevez is fourth with 38 goals from 58 matches.

Kevin De Bruyne (40/111) is third with Raheem Sterling second with 51 goals from 109 appearances.

There’s little surprise who’s top of the rankings.

It’s, of course, Sergio Aguero, who scored 106 goals from 142 appearances.

Haaland has some way to go before reaching Aguero’s mighty milestone.

But he’s started extremely well - and he’ll be hungry for more as the weeks, months and years progress.

HAALAND FIRSTS

Erling Haaland has created a host of firsts in his start to life on the pitch at Manchester City.

He was the first player in Premier League history to score a hat-trick in three consecutive home games in the competition.

He also became the first player in Premier League history to score in each of his first four away games in the competition.

Haaland also became the first Manchester City player to score on both his Premier League debut and UEFA Champions League debut for the club.

He also scored nine goals in his first five Premier League appearances - a new competition record, surpassing Mick Quinn and Sergio Aguero (both 8).

20 UP FOR HAALAND

Erling Haaland has become the fastest player to score 20 goals in the Premier League.

His brace against Leeds United at Elland Road ensured he reached that milestone in just 14 appearances.

That’s seven appearances fewer than the next quickest – Kevin Phillips for Sunderland in the 1999/2000 campaign.

Remarkably, his 20 goals would have been enough to secure a share of the Golden Boot in five Premier League campaigns.

Games to reach 20 goals

14 - ERLING HAALAND
21 - Kevin Phillips
23 - Andrew Cole
26 - Ruud van Nistelrooy
26 - Diego Costa
26 - Tony Yeboah

DEBUT DELIGHT

Erling Haaland is also currently third on the list of most goals in a player’s first Premier League season for City.

He is only three goals from the summit – and he’s still got a whopping 23 games remaining.

Haaland has already scored 20 goals in 14 appearances in the top-flight, which ranks him in the Top 5 list.

He is ahead of the likes of David White and Nicolas Anelka on the list but in front of him, currently, are Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero, who are joint top.

They both bagged 23 goals – Tevez in 35 appearances across 2009/10 and Aguero in 34 appearances in 2011/12.

Most goals in a first Premier League season for City

2009/2010: Carlos Tevez – 35 appearances/23 goals
2011/2012: Sergio Aguero – 34 appearances/23 goals
2022/2023: ERLING HAALAND – 14 appearances/20 goals
1992/1993: David White – 42 appearances/16 goals
2002/2003: Nicolas Anelka – 38 appearances/14 goals

HAT-TRICK HERO

Erling Haaland has Alan Shearer in his sights as he looks to eclipse his hat-trick record.

Shearer has scored the most trebles at a single ground in a Premier League season.

He bagged four for Blackburn at Ewood Park across the 1995/96 season.

Haaland is one off that with three hat-tricks at the Etihad Stadium.

He’s joint second on the list alongside Ruud van Nistelrooy (Old Trafford - 2002/03), Dimitar Berbatov (Old Trafford - 2010/11), Sergio Agüero (Etihad Stadium - 2018/19) and Shearer again (Ewood Park - 1994/95).

Most hat-tricks at a ground in a Premier League season

Alan Shearer: 1995/1996 - Ewood Park – 4
Alan Shearer: 1994/1995 - Ewood Park – 3
Ruud van Nistelrooy: 2002/2003 - Old Trafford – 3
Dimitar Berbatov: 2010/2011 - Old Trafford – 3

DECEMBER BLUES

Erling Haaland was firmly on target for a festive record – had it not been for the World Cup.

In the ‘Most Goals Scored Before Christmas’ in the Premier League rankings, Haaland was just two off top spot.

He had 18 goals – joint fourth with Les Ferdinand who achieved the same total in 1995/96.

In joint first are Andrew Cole, Kevin Phillips and Luis Suarez, who scored 19 across 1993/94, 1999/00 and 2013/14 respectively.

With this season seeing a November stop to usher in a winter break for the World Cup, Haaland missed out on at least half a dozen games to top the table.
