Today marks 20 years since our first game at our home, the Etihad Stadium.

Since that friendly with FC Barcelona in 2003, the ground has become synonymous with dramatic moments, beautiful football and a whole host of trophies.

City have been in the Premier League in every season at the ground, with the second decade proving the most successful in the Club’s history.

Our first trophy after moving from Maine Road was the 2011 FA Cup and since then our men’s team have been the dominant force in English football, claiming seven Premier League titles, three FA Cups, six League Cups and our first ever Champions League just last season.

To earn that success, we’ve played 518 times at the Etihad Stadium across all competitions. 357 of those games have ended in a City victory and 78 in draws, with just 83 defeats.

Those 518 games have seen City score 1,224 times and concede just 449 goals. Sergio Aguero is the leading scorer in games at the Etihad, finding the net 149 times.

The 9-0 victory over Burton Albion in 2019 is our biggest win at the ground, with the 8-0 thrashing of Watford in 2021 our largest win in the Premier League.

Our longest ever home league winning run – and the second longest in Premier League history - came between March 2011 and 2012 under Roberto Mancini. That saw us win 20 games in a row, with 56 goals scored and only 8 conceded.

David Silva has played more games at the stadium than anyone else, turning out for City on 216 occasions during his ten-year stay in Manchester.

We’ve compiled a list of the best stats and facts during our time at the Etihad.

• Eleven teams have seen their heaviest or joint-heaviest defeat in the Premier League come at the Etihad Stadium. That is the most of any ground in the competition’s history.

• The first Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium saw us defeat Manchester United 4-1 in March 2004, which was our biggest league victory over our local rivals since September 1989.

• There have been two Premier League campaigns in which a team lost exactly one game – Chelsea in 2004-05 and Liverpool in 2018-19, with both teams’ only defeat of the season coming at the Etihad Stadium. It was Chelsea’s only defeat in a run of 52 league games, and it was Liverpool’s only defeat in a run of 66 league games.

• Our iconic 3-2 win against QPR at the Etihad Stadium on the final day of the 2011-12 season was the first time a side won a Premier League game despite still trailing going into stoppage time.

• That game also saw us take the most shots ever recorded by a single team in a Premier League match, with 44. City’s 44th shot, a title-winning strike from Sergio Agüero, ended the our 44-year wait for a top-flight title.

• Since Pep Guardiola joined City in 2016, the two Premier League goals with the most passes in the build-up have both been scored by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. • City are the only English top-flight side to score 100+ goals at home in a single season in all competitions. We have done so both at the Etihad Stadium (100 goals in 2018-19 and 2022-23).

• Last season we set the record for most home wins in all competitions in a single season by a Premier League team, with 28 victories at the Etihad Stadium.
