Manchester City made an unbeaten start to the 2022/23 Premier League season and the nominated trio have been central to our fine form, delivering several impressive performances in the opening weeks of the campaign.
De Bruyne featured in all five of City’s games in August, scoring once and providing three assists.
The Belgian netted a wonderful outside-of-the-boot effort in a Man of the Match display against Bournemouth and reinforced his status as City’s creator-in-chief with exceptional assists for Haaland and Bernardo against West Ham and Newcastle United respectively.
It is fair to say Haaland has hit the ground running since his summer arrival from Borussia Dortmund.
The Norwegian scored nine times in August – a Premier League record – netting a brace on his debut against West Ham and following it up with a strike at Newcastle before back-to-back hat-tricks at home to Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.
He has won Man of the Match on three of his first five appearances.
Bernardo is our final contender after a month in which he scored twice and provided two assists from his five appearances.
The 28-year-old, who has been typically classy throughout August, earned Man of the Match against Newcastle, where he netted the third goal to rescue a point for City after setting up Ilkay Gundogan with a superb curling cross.
He followed that up with another goal against Palace, pulling Guardiola’s men back into the game with a low drive that chalked up his 50th goal for the Club.
It’s now over to you who decide who wins the first award of the season.
