Manchester City booked a place in the semi-final of the FA Cup for the third succesive season, thanks to a hard-fought 2-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park.
It was a dominant display throughout the tie from Pep Guardiola‘s side, however a resiliant Everton defence meant the two sides went in at half time all-square.
City’s pressure finally paid off five minutes from time, as an Aymeric Laporte strike crashed off the bar and into the path from Ilkay Gundogan who headed in the all-important opener from 10 yards.
Kevin De Bruyne then broke through to score our second goal of the tie in the final moments to book a place in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley in April.
The victory also sees another record broke by Guardiola‘s side this season, after the win sets a new club record of 17 straight away games unbeaten in all competitions.
