Manchester City extended our lead at the top of the Premier League table to 10 points with an impressive 3-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park.

Phil Foden was the man to give City the lead midway through the first half, as his deflected effort wrong-footed Jordan Pickford for his 11th goal of the season.

Despite Pep Guardiola‘s side dominating throughout the first half The Toffees levelled things up against the run of play, as Lucas Digne’s effort crashed off the post and off the knee of Richarlison to equalise just before the break.

Into the second half, and it was a moment of Mahrez brilliance that regained our lead, as the Algerian curled a stunning effort from 20-yards past a helpless Pickford for his second goal in as many games at Goodison Park.

Bernardo Silva then added our third 15 minutes from time as he  wriggled away from his man, before firing home from the edge of the box to secure our 17th win on the bounce.

The win also saw us set a new English record of 10 consecutive top-flight league wins at the start of a year.

Our 3-1 victory away at Everton means we move clear of Bolton Wanderers, who managed nine league wins in a row at the start of 1904, and Manchester United, who began 2009 with nine on the bounce.
