John Stones is targeting as much silverware as possible as City aim for another trophy haul.

The England defender believes the Blues can drive towards more glory in the months ahead and says three more trophies are achievable – with another Premier League title high on the list.

“I am fighting to play as many games as I can and trying to recreate what we did last season by winning the Premier League and maybe go one step further,£ said Stones.

“We are still in two other competitions as well - the FA Cup and the Champions League - and the focus is always to get more, want more and strive for more as an individual and as a club.

“There are still a lot of things to play for and you could say that is getting to an exciting time.

“We are definitely relishing the position that we have got ourselves in.

“We are top of the league and reigning champions, so there are a lot of positives.

“We have got to keep focusing on us, how we play, what we are doing and not get side-tracked in our thinking or anything like that.

“The goal is always very clear in our mind and we have got to keep striving for that.

“We can only affect it by playing the game tomorrow and focusing everything on the game after that and taking it step by step.

“We will see where that takes us.”

Though Stones has had to be patient for opportunities this season, he has looked in top form when he has played.

Now in his sixth season with City, he says he is loving life at the Etihad – and is not concerned by the current situation at the top of the table.

“I am really enjoying myself and my football. I am trying to give everything for the team when I get out there,” he said.

“As a team, we give everything in each game we play in, focus on ourselves and don’t worry about the outside noise and get carried away with things.

“I think we have been very good over the years at doing that and staying focused when you hear people say things are getting tight or maybe a bit on edge.

“We definitely don’t feel like that as a squad and me as a player. It is football, things happen.

“You win games, you lose games, you might draw games and you cannot control what other teams do around you or how they set up against you.

“We can only focus on ourselves and we are definitely doing that.”
