The Scout’s verdict is in for Gameweek 7 of Fantasy Premier League as City host Fulham.

Pep Guardiola’s side welcome the Cottagers to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 5 September, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00 (UK).

Last season, the Blues recorded two league wins over Marco Silva’s side which included an emphatic 5-1 success at home.

On that occasion, goals from Julian Alvarez, Nathan Ake preceded a second-half Erling Haaland hat-trick which meant the Norwegian hitman surpassed 50 goal involvements in the division in just 39 appearances.

But against a Fulham side who have lost just one of their eight assignments in all competitions so far this term, we’ll have to be at our very best to collect three points on Saturday.

As FPL leagues begin to take shape, managers will be looking to maximise their points return ahead of Saturday 5 October’s 11:00 (UK) deadline.

CITY STAR

Joskvo Gvardiol (£5.9m) looks a fantastic mid to long-term investment as the fixture difficulty eases up for Manchester City over the next five Gameweeks.

The defender has the potential at both end of the pitch. Since Rodri’s (£6.3m) injury the Croatian and Mario Akanji (£5.5m) have popped up in the opposition penalty area with greater frequency, increasing their route to points.

From Gameweek 33-38 last season, Gvardiol was averaging 9.7 points per start, and there are signs of that form returning.

In Gameweek 6 he scored, registered five penalty area touches, 20 touches in the final third and three take-ons.

Indeed, in the last two matches he has had three shots on goal and the joint-most touches in the penalty area (10) of any defender in FPL.

Gvardiol also scored twice against Gameweek 7 opponents Fulham in this fixture last season.

ONE TO WATCH

Raul Jimenez (£5.5m) is Fulham’s form attacker, having scored in each of his last three appearances.

DIFFERENTIALS

Elsewhere, Brennan Johnson (£6.4m) and Liam Delap (£5.6m) are low-owned gems who have good potential in Gameweek 7.

Johnson has now scored in each of his last four matches for Spurs in all competitions. Meanwhile Delap, registered a brace against Aston Villa for Ipswich in Gameweek 6.
