In pictures: Eight years of Fernandinho

Fernandinho will be a Manchester City player until the summer of 2022 after a signing a new one-year contract.

The deal stretches the Brazilian’s commitment to the Club into a ninth season.

Fernandinho arrived at City in the summer of 2013 and has gone on to establish himself as a key figure during a golden era.

To date, he has made 350 appearances and won 12 trophies, including four Premier League titles and a record six League Cups.

A consummate professional and a beacon of dependability, the 36-year-old became club captain last summer and his leadership and influence proved crucial as Pep Guardiola’s side were crowned champions of England for the third time in four years.
