The 20-year-old joins from Valencia, where he was regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in La Liga, and has signed a five-year deal which keeps him at the Club until the summer of 2025.

He’s only five
Torres was born on 29 February 2000, meaning he has only celebrated his birthday five times due to being born in a leap year.
Hometown boy
Torres was born in Foios, just 20 minutes from Valencia’s Paterna training ground and his entire family support the Club.
In the past, when he was won a trophy, he has always celebrated with the Valencian flag.
Giving back
Since 2018, Torres has provided a weeklong training camp for 5-16-year-olds in his hometown of Foios, called Campus Ferran Torres.
The camp includes football training, other sporting activities and technical talks from some of Torres’ friends and advisers within the game.
Futsal first
Torres played futsal for a year before joining Valencia’s academy at the age of six. A scout spotted him playing for his school and following a successful trial he was quickly identified as a player of great potential
Record breaker
Torres made his La Liga debut in Valencia’s 2-1 loss to Eibar on 16 December 2017, becoming the first player born in the 2000s to play in Spain’s top tier.
Aged 19 years and 324 days he broke a 40-year record to become the youngest player in Valencia’s history to play 50 league games, when he featured in the 2-1 defeat at Real Betis in November 2019.
He was also the first player born in the 2000s to score a Champions League goal for a Spanish club after netting in the 4-1 win over Lille in November 2019.
Nautical ink
The Spanish youngster has a tattoo of an anchor, which includes the words ‘I refuse to sink’.
He shares the design with his sister Arantxa, with whom he is close. They chose an anchor to remind themselves that you can go through tough times and move forward.
DOG LOVER
Torres has two dogs. A Podenco Andaluz called Minnie and a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog called Lluna.
Minnie is his favourite!
Familiar faces
He has played with Eric Garcia for Spain’s U17s and U19s and he played against Phil Foden in the final of the U17 European Championships in 2017, which Spain won on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
In the 2019 final of the U19 European Championships, Torres scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Portugual and was named in the Team of the Tournament alongside Garcia.
Film fanatic
The 20-year-old is a keen cinema goer, which is a passion he shares with his family.
“That’s one thing that brings us together,” he says. “We all have our own routine, but we make time to switch off at the cinema.”
Harry Potter fan
Torres’ Instagram account suggests he is a fan of the world’s most famous wizard.
The winger has a photograph with James and Oliver Phelps, who play Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter film series.
