Kevin De Bruyne assisted both goals in a majestic midfield display to inspire City to a crucial 2-0 Premier League victory away to Nottingham Forest.

Pep Guardiola‘s men struck first in the manager’s 300th Premier League game in charge of the club, with Gvardiol expertly heading in his second league goal of the season from Kevin De Bruyne‘s corner shortly after the half-hour mark.

The hosts almost hit back before the interval on two separate occasions, but Chris Wood failed to connect properly with the ball in a promising position, before Murillo’s flicked effort clipped the top of the crossbar after a loose ball inside the six yard box.

Forest continued to press for the equaliser after the interval, with Wood again failing to hit the target from a good position.

In the 68th minute, we were denied a superb second goal as De Bruyne drilled an effort towards the bottom corner, but the sprawling Matz Sels expertly sprung to palm the ball around the post.

However, two minutes later, substitute Erling Haaland was fed by De Bruyne, before twisting Murillo and slotting into the bottom corner with his right foot to double our lead and claim his 21st goal of the league campaign.

We remained cool, calm and professional for the remaining minutes to claim all three points at the City Ground, and move to within one point of league-leaders Arsenal, with a game in hand over the Gunners.
