It was an incredible weekend to be a City fan...

All four of our senior teams won their matches across the Premier League, Barclays Women’s Super League, Premier League 2 and U18 Premier League.

The weekend began on Saturday with victories for our Under-18 and WSL sides over Middlesbrough and Arsenal respectively.

Ben Wilkinson‘s team ran out 4-1 winners at the CFA to extend our lead at the top of the U18 Premier League North while Gareth Taylor‘s team got a crucial three points against our rivals for a Champions League spot.

Lauren Hemp and Chloe Kelly got the goals in front of a sold out Academy Stadium as we moved just three points behind leaders Manchester United.

They were backed up on Sunday by our EDS, who saw off the challenge of Liverpool to return to the top of the Premier League 2. Carlos Borges scored a brace and Oscar Bobb got the other in a 3-1 win.

The result cemented our position at the top of Premier League 2, two points ahead of second place Chelsea and with a game in hand.

To complete the weekend, Pep Guardiola‘s team closed the closed gap to league leaders Arsenal with a convincing 3-1 win over Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium.

Rodrigo‘s early header settled any nerves before Ilkay Gundogan doubled the lead. A Riyad Mahrez penalty made it three on the stroke of half time.

Ollie Watkins pulled one back for the claret and blues after the break but City held on for a vital three points.

That result meant we moved to within three points of leaders Arsenal, who we face on Wednesday in what should be a hugely exciting encounter at the Emirates Stadium.
