Pep Guardiola‘s side dominated possession in a first half of few chances, as the hosts defended well and remained organised to limit City to only some half chances.
However, the second period began in explosive style.
With just a little over a minute after the restart, City went ahead through John Stones, who touched in calmly from six yards after a wonderful set-piece delivery from Joao Cancelo, notching his fourth league goal of the season.
The goal sparked City to life and nine minutes later, Gabriel Jesus netted a second, capitalising on a defensive error by rounding Alphonse Areola and blasting into the empty net.
City were rampant and showed no signs of slowing down as Ferran Torres burst into the box and was tripped, resulting in Aguero firing into the bottom corner from the penalty spot on the hour mark - his first Premier League goal after 14 months.
The hosts never gave up despite City’s commanding lead but we remained defensively resolute to see out the victory - extending our lead at the top of the table to 17 points!
