Gerónimo Rulli has described the City are Back event as a ‘really nice start’ to his spell at the Etihad Stadium.

The Argentine goalkeeper joined the Club earlier this week from Ligue 1 side Marseille and didn’t have to wait long to introduce himself to the City supporters at a special open training event.

Rulli joined fellow summer recruit Elliot Anderson for a brief interview at the Joie Stadium following the session, where he highlighted the warm welcome he’s received so far since making the switch to Manchester.

Indeed, our new stopper explained how the positive atmosphere within the squad has led to an easy transition so far to his new environment.

He said: “It’s wonderful to meet all the people, the fans and all the young kids also who scored a few goals!

“For me it’s a real nice start.

“The guys gave me a really good atmosphere to come in to.

“Also, it’s sunny and maybe I can hopefully bring the sun here!”
Rulli also discussed the rich history of Argentine talent to have represented City in recent years.

Our goalkeeper has already revealed the ringing endorsement former Blue Julian Alvarez gave to City when he asked his international team-mate about a potential move to the Club.

And he reiterated the excellent reputation City has in his homeland, and some of those legendary individuals to have represented the Blues.

“Of course, I grew up watching them. Watching [Carlos] Tevez, Kun [Aguero], I remember the famous goal [against Queens Park Rangers in 2012].

“In Argentina we know the football, the Premier League and of course we love Manchester City.

“I have a really good relationship with him [Julian Alvarez]. We spoke a lot.

“Last week I spoke with him also, he said some places to live.

“In the moment I told him I have the chance to come here, he said go, it’s one of the best clubs in the world you will enjoy it a lot.”
