Ilkay Gundogan has been included in Germany’s 26-man World Cup squad.

Germany are in Group E for the tournament, alongside Spain, Costa Rica and Japan.

Gundogan has 62 caps for his country, has scored 16 goals and will look to add to that tally as the 22nd edition of the tournament takes place from 20 November to 18 December in Qatar.

Germany finished top of their qualifying Group J, ending up on 27 points from 10 games, ahead of North Macedonia, Romania, Armenia, Iceland and Liechtenstein.

Germany have won the title four times in 1954, 1974, 1990 and 2014 respectively, as well as finishing as runners-up on four occasions in 1966, 1982, 1986, 2002 on top of ending in third place three times.
