Josko Gvardiol has been nominated for the EA Sports Player of the Month award after a superb October for City.

The Croatian defender played in all three Premier League matches during the month as we moved a point clear at the top of the table.

We began with a 3-2 victory over Fulham before a dramatic 2-1 win away to Wolves.

After falling behind to an early goal, Gvardiol found a way through a stubborn defence with a stunning equaliser - a curling strike from the edge of the box into the top corner.

Our final game of the month was a 1-0 over Southampton when he was part of a defence that kept a clean sheet to secure a 100% record in the Premier League in October.

Also nominated for the award are Chris Wood and Matz Sels, after an impressive month for Nottingham Forest, and Brighton’s Danny Welbeck and Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who both scored three times.

The shortlist is completed by Leicester’s Facundo Buonanotte, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka of Arsenal.
