Haaland was introduced shortly after the hour mark and within ten minutes, got his name on the scoresheet, latching onto Kevin De Bruyne‘s through ball before calmly slotting into the bottom corner.
The Norwegian, who now has 21 league goals and leads the race for the Golden Boot, was overjoyed after returning to the pitch.
“Yeah, first of all it’s an important win, that’s the most important,” he said. “It doesn’t matter how we do it. It’s about winning. It’s good to be back.
“We know where they [Forest] are in the table so we knew it would be a fight. It’s not the easiest pitch to play on but we can’t complain about these things.
“It’s about winning a football game, that’s exactly what we did. Three points, get in, shower and think of the next.
“It’s always nice [to have dad in the crowd], I’ll see him later tonight. Hopefully he’s happy.”
The victory takes Pep Guardiola‘s men one point behind leaders Arsenal, with a game in hand, and Haaland believes the sole focus of the team should be on the next game, rather than thinking too far ahead.
